I am having a large steel part coated by the aluminum flame spray process. The coating is to help withstand a 350 degree F WITH STEAM environment. I am planning to follow up the flame spray with a sealer to seal the porosity. (There is some interesting information on this site about porosity actually being a good thing! Hmmm)
I have a number of specs (Military and Commercial) that I am using for references, since I am new to this process. One commercial spec recommends "aluminum phenolic sealer". I have not found a product by this description. I did find one called "phenolic". Military spec states "heat resistant aluminum paint per spec TT-P-28". Is one of these materials better than the other for my application (Heat + Steam)? Is there something even better?
Thanks,
Brian
