Hi Mike
Case hardening could make a big difference in the size of indentation, but it will depend very much on the hardness of your steel at the moment. Difficult to tell if you can get to a condition of no permanent deformation. If your steel is very soft like mild steel and the indentation is minor then your chances are good.
