Hi Nicholas

Not sure on this one, but electrolytic and chemical stripping have the potential for giving some hydrogen absorption though much lower than you would get with electoplating. If your substrate material is less than 1000 Mpa tensile strength or 325 HV you should not need to worry, if it is above then a 200 degree C stress relieving heat treatment should help.
