Hello,
My company makes copper powder. We are trying to understand a few
things about what makes a raw material "Good" for HVOF. In some
limited discussions previously, we came to believe that very fine
particles (say, -325 Mesh) were detrimental to the process.
Is this the case? If so, why? Is there a percentage of
these very small particles that are typically allowed?
Also, what is the effect of pre-existing oxidation on the powder
particles on the HVOF process? I understand this can lead to
problems as well.
