Thanks for Gordon's explaination. That works to me! CFD of high speed spray coating concludsthat fine particles are ejected sideways parallel to substrate.
The next question is: why diameter effects most?
what happened to our spary part setup is: the larger the part (diameter), the more chance that the center of part off the center of the turntable. So I reason it to be the variation of the stand off distance. If spray a flat sample attached on a ring, the various stand-off from center of the sample to the edge is obvirous. On the other hand, is the spray really so sensitive to small change of stand-off distance?
