hello gordon england. my name is ben tebbutt and i have been delighted to discover your forum and it has far exceeded my research expectations. i have scoured the message board for plasma coatings onto polymers. i wish to build racecar flywheel from carbon fibre polymer and would like to coat the friction face with a metal coating. you have stated that you have had success with this. what polymer/coating combination have you had the most success with. the polymer will have aluminium inserts for threads so its required properties are reasonably free other than good pull off and shear resistance with whatever coating. i would like the coating to have similar hardness to tool steel and be 1 or 2mm thick. thank you in advance kind regards ben. ps can any one recomend a polymer/fibre combination.
