Friction coefficient for painted steel
Hi
Does anyone know the dynamic and static friction coefficients for painted steel, or even point me in the right direction to find them? Thanks |

RE: Friction coefficient for painted steel
Hi sanjuan
Welcome to the Surface Engineering Forum. I'm afraid it is not possible to even give a rough guess at the possible values with the information provided. Friction coefficients values are dependent on many different factors like counterface material, surface finish, load, speed, contamination, lubrication, temperature, etc..... plus the type of paint. Below are a few links which may be helpful: http://www.roymech.co.uk/Useful_Tables/T..._frict.htm http://gordonengland.co.uk/cgi-bin/board...s/773.html http://gordonengland.co.uk/cgi-bin/board.../3286.html Regards Gordon |
