Copper protection against high temperature corrosion
I would like to use copper as heat exchanger at temperatures up to 450°C, but I noticed severe temperature corrosion. Next I tried the copper plated with nickel, but the nickel seems to come loose near sharp edges and the surface is heat stained.
Is there a better treatment, or should I replace the copper by another metal (alloy) with high thermal conductivity ?
Many thanks for your reply,
Herman

Hi Herman

Sign0016 to the Surface Engineering Forum.

Thermal spray coating of Ni5Al alloy or may be pure aluminium?

Changing material to aluminium bronze or copper nickel alloy?

Regards Gordon
