Pl let me know the corrosin resistance properties of Al, 5%Mg wire compared to 99.5% Al when sprayed by Arc spray

I would expect them to be generally similar for protecting iron and steel against corrosion. Al5Mg is a little more "active" (sacrificial) than pure aluminium and sometimes specified for use in marine environments by a few companies. Not really sure of the pros and cons though.

The Norwegians, who are really fighting with environmental corrosion, has considered that Al5Mg has performed best in their off-shore applications.
