importance of KW rating for plasma system

Metallisation Company claims that 90% thermal spray plasma systems operate at less than 40Kw power rating. We are presently planning to buy a 80KW FST or GTV system for chromium oxide and stabilised zirconia coatings, as metallisation offers 50KW system. IS there a way to compare all three systems for our use.

I think that claim is roughly correct.

Initially, I would ask this same question to the potential suppliers of the equipment. Try to get information on the particular coatings that you are planning on producing, like quality, deposit efficiency and spray rate. Get these companies to provide samples of these coatings so you can evaluate them yourself.
