Thermal polymer
This might be a little off when it comes to surface coatings, but the equipment seems to be related.

Has anyone used the TCSS MX-98
Thermal Polymer Preform Process
?

Or a similar system? Rate of deposit? Thickness of layers? Strength of spray formed object?

I'm curious if I could use such a system to replace the polyester resin that I currently use. The objects that I make do not require a lot of strength. More like prop/display type of structures.

Thanks.

Hi Max

Sign0016 to the Surface Engineering forum.

Sorry, no experience with this particular system. It may be suitable for your purpose, I would contact manufacturer/supplier and discuss your application, they may be able to provide samples and or demonstration of equipment.

RE: Thermal polymer
Hi Max

Never seen anything like that before but looking at their web site it certainly looks pretty good. I might forward that onto our composite guys.

Worth a look I'd say Smile

RE: Thermal polymer
Gordon,

Do you know of a different system similar to the TCSS MX-98 machine, that can produce a free standing object from thermoplastic?

After much googleing I can only find polymer coating systems.

Thanks.
