Tantalum based chrome oxide

I received an inquiry today for a "tantalum based chrome oxide" coating applied via HVOF. I have never heard of this before. I only know plasma applied chrome oxide. Can someone give me some information about the material and where I can buy the powder? Is this a cer-met type material? What percentage metal/ceramic is commonly used? Why would someone want to use this instead of a tungsten or chrome carbide coating?

It's possible they mean a tantalum base/bond coat topped off with chromium oxide. Not come across a cermet, not sure I see the point.

HVOF? Chromium oxide would be extremely difficult to apply in powder form and as for tantalum, I think unlikely (melting point ~2950C). Sounds like a job for plasma.

Tantalum is a very resistant to chemical attack and is mainly used for this purpose in the chemical industry. It is also very expensive
