TBC coating in warehouse from 2011
Dear all thermal spray coating expert

Good morning from indonesia, guys i have case that my turbine blade row 2 from industrial gas turbine coated (TBC) in 2011, and never install to engine yet until now in march 2019. now in my customer warehouse.

My warranty repair blade is finished.

i wanna ask, is TBC coating has expired date after apply to part, and still save to operate ??

FYI TBC with bond coat AMDRY 962 and top coat METCO 204 NSG

Hi Achmad,

Of course, you can store the blades indefinitely, it must not happen.

Think even if the coating would be damaged during storage in the box, how can it survive the operating conditions of the gas turbine?

Of course, you can store the blades indefinitely, it must not happen.

Think even if the coating would be damaged during storage in the box, how can it survive the operating conditions of the gas turbine?

From my customer information the turbine blade no damaged when stored.
Just asking, is turbine blade still save to install with coating from 2011 to 2019 and never install to engine before.

Yes, yours turbine blade is save to install in 2019 as well as in 3019.
