Stellite Jet Kote - Green flame?

We run 25 hours with Stellite JK 2 system, Bulk H2 gas, Bulk LOX, Bulk liquid Ar cariier. However we are having a problem lately with a green flame, and bright green flashes. W, co, ni coating, Wondering if anyone can help us identify where this could be coming from. we have performed line pressure drop tests which all passed which tell s me that it may be a fuel gas supplier issue, any help would be appreciated. Could there be a possible contamination from the h2 gas, LOX, Ar, which would cause a green flame. example, Nitrogen, if the supplier's trailer wasn't propery filled or rehabbed properly.

We change combustion chamber, combustion head, and nozzle every 25 hours, with new o rings. Hopper rebuild every 50 hours

Thought your post deserved its own thread.

Green flame may be indication of copper burning in flame. I would suspect your gun hardware. Barrel build-up or as hvofhamid comments. Possibly powder contamination. I would not dismiss a problem with your supplier's trailer set-up though, just sounds unlikely.

Thanks to all, for the quick responses. When we receive powder lots from Stellite, we compare certs with our strict requirements, they have all been within spec. However i have never looked at it from that prospective. I think just to be safe i am going to bring in Davis Lee from stellite to view our used combustion heads, and used nozzles for his opinion on the used conditions. Also, I would like to have all our bulk gasses tested for impurities as well. I love this website, and love the thermal coating process.
