Please recommend me what kind of plasma guns available to be used for this component, and refer to the sketch as below.

Remark: Spray it with TBC coating.

Do you have any suggestion parameters for the sg-100 SG-100 30 degree extension gun, or Sulzer Metco F1-30.Ashamed0002.
Is the power easy to melt the TBC coating with these gun?

You can ask the OEM for the parameter, base on that you can twick a little to get the best parameter you need. The power of these two gun is low and the DE is small, you need long time to build up TBC. With that small space you can use, you don't have much choice.

Hello Lucas,

Definitely agree with Derek about suitable guns. An F1-45 may even cover the lower limit fade out area as spray streams are actually greater than stated angle. A robot would allow you to get close to a 90 degree spray angle on the main coated area and then an increasing curve orientation/traverse down of the gun would facilitate the lower coating taper out. Turbulence and re-entrapment of 'spent' spray particles will be something you need to address. Because of the the tighter lower region coating build up will be quick despite the increased angle. The fact that these ID plasma guns are relatively slow build-up would actually support a better quality coating with fewer ‘undesirables’.

I am assuming that this is a combustion liner type component? Does this component have any exit holes or chutes for overspray dust to escape?

There are a few things you can do in regards to the set up and process that will optimise the application.

The F1 sprays awesome TBCs. I'm just trying to access my approved parameter sheets for TBC materials - having renovations done at present so things are hard to get to right now.

Yes, there are some exit holes. Unfortunately, the IDs of holes are forbidden to be coated. Therefore, I need to mask them and block them up. I worry about overspray dust.Mad0214
