Magnetic permeablility of coating
Dear Gordon,
thank you for your reply.
Does the porosity or caoting thickness have to do anything with the magnetic permeability.
If so what is the method to obtain minimum porosity in the coating we are getting around 2 to 3 % porosity.
we are using Metco 9mb Gun with argon and Hydrogen as primary and secondary gases and are following Sulzer Metco recommended parameters for the Bond Coat (450NS) and Top Coat 136F.
regards
Ravi

RE: Magnetic permeablility of coating
Hi Ravi

See my response in your earlier thread magnetic-permeability-t-987.html

Coating thickness should not effect magnetic permeability properties of coating as this is a material property. However, if coating has different magnetic properties to substrate, then varying thickness/coating mass will have an effect on magnetic properties of the component as a whole.
