Machining Acetal Copolymer and Stress
Good Afternoon:
I need guides to surface finishing an acetal copolymer sheet of .500" thick to .396" thick. I have tried in the past but the piece of material which is plastic, looses his flatness. Is there any link sugestion where I could find, machining speeds, or feed rates that help the material dissipates it stress without loosing his flatness, or a time scale to uses withing mill passes.

Don't think I can help much on this one. Obviously, using tooling that cuts freely, with minimum rubbing/smearing. Balancing stresses by machining/peening other side?
