Lubricity coating at 500'C
Hi everyone!
Has anyone done/experience on the above subject using thermal spray technology? The application is on the sliding surface of glass moulds which should have non adherence property to molten glass and produce no debris which may fall onto the shaped glass. Is it possible to use blended hex Boron Nitrate powder with suitable HVOF powder for the above environment mentioned?
Kindly let me know the possibilities.

Thank you
S.Guna

Hi Guna

I have my doubts that a blend would work, though a composite powder might. All the abradable coating powders containing boron nitride seem to be composites. I know the abradable nickel/graphite coatings often get considered for this type of application, so a system with boron nitride sounds logical.
