LPG vaporizer for HVOF
Dear Raviswanadha and friends
Hi
Thanks for your advice, is it possible to to have more information and specification about vaporizer, how can we prepare or making it, if you have any manufacture or design drawing please send me,

Thanks

RE: LPG vaporizer for HVOF
We can supply LPG vaporizer for HVOF but be careful it is to maintain the gas to ambiant temperature. I have an accident in the past with a apragaz in turkey using central heating boiler inside a lpg tank of 4cuber meter size. At 49°C the pressure delivered was about 14B LPG. When then Jetkote gun has started, no problem but after a few minutes, the pressure regulator of the tank was too small sized and the gas goes "cracking" and a viscous brown petroleum type liquid was fed to the system. It damaged regulators membranes and orings of valves due to heat at 49
°C and of dissolvant effect (the craked lpg attak rubber and viton membranes as acetone or thinner).
I had to clean all with ether and replace damaged orings and membranes.

A LPG vaporizer works like an alambic.

Take in main that you must use gas carefully, specially GPL gas, that is very instable at more than 3,5 bar, and in order to run an HVOF gun, you need at least 8 bar, At higher temperature the vapor pressure also is higher. At about 45°C the pressure required to keep LPG in a liquid state is about 100psi. its liquefy at a critical pressure of 42,5 bar and its critical temperature is 96,67 °C, try to use natural gas or propane.

RE: LPG vaporizer for HVOF
Take in mind again (this is not a joking), that you need for HVOF gun, about 200NLPM at a minimum pressure of about 9 Bar to the gas regulator and constant 7,6 Bar to the HVOF console. If the utility can provide you with this delivery constant flow and pressure, and the gas and vaporizer supplier, confirm and assure that with this flow and pressure, the system work in security with GPL gas, then you can use it, but you must know that you are going to need Hydrogen lighting assistance in order to ignite Natural or LPG gas.

RE: LPG vaporizer for HVOF
In case of KPG cylinders, you would get two types, LOT and VOT, meaning liquid off take and vapor off take

VOT cylinders have a purer form of propane as compared to the LOT cylinders which are a mix of propane and butane

May be using a VOT cylinder eradicates the use of the vaporizer completely...we're working on this and shall share the results .....
