Copperlock
Hello,
Has anyone any experience with Copperlock coating?

Copperlock is an alternate process to Metco 610NS available for refurbishing containment ring made of Inco 625.
Process is as follows:
- chemical stripping
- diameter restoration
- metco 450 bond
- aluminium oxide blast
- Copperlock base coat
- machining
- Copperlock top coat (finish)

Apparently Copperlock is processed using a spatule, coat is then polymerized in furnace.

thanks for your feedback and comments
Laurent

No experience with this product. Does it have any approvals for use in the same applications as Metco 610NS?

Hi Gordon
Yes we do use Copperlock as an alternate for metco 610NS.
Copperlock was introduced through DER (Designated Engineering Rep) to fix corrosion appearing with Metco 601NS.
Manuifacturer introduced Metco 610NS to address corrosion issue.
My only concern was to collect some experience on Copperlock ageing on wing, as process is simple and cheaper.

Best regards
Laurent
