Anode Wear
Hey Guy's

Iv'e got an issue with a SG-100 praxair gun anodes.
I'm running a 175 anode with a 129 cathode using argon at 50 psi and nitrogen at 110 psi and a 112 gas injector spraying chromium oxide with powder gas at 38 psi. AMps are 725 with 48 volts.
Coatings look pretty good but the anode wear is severe. The anode lasts for only a few hours. My water flows are 170 psi at the pump around 98 at gun, with a 9 gpm with 72 degrees Fahrenheit. The wear is only on the bottom side opposite the powder injection from the top, just aft of the powder port.
Thanks for any advice or help. Joe

RE: Anode Wear
What is the Inlet temperature of water. Do u use a chiller? The anode wear may be atributed to concentricity also. Pl check the sitting of anode and Cathode.
Regards.

Water Temp coming into heat exchanger from chiller is 59F. The cathode and anode are seated properly along with the gas injector
