Hi Everybody
What is the appropriate preheating method for the aluminum sunstrate?

RE: Aluminum Preheating
It's not recommend to preheat(will make oxidation layer during preheat) the Aluminum substrate. After blast the part, spray it immediately.

Hi M.Naguib

I agree with Derek. Pre-heating aluminium after blasting is not recommended

If your aluminium substrates are coming into your workshop very cold, allow them to warm up before processing or gentle pre-heat before grit blasting. A cold substrate will attract water condensation, which is best avoided.

What if it is preheated and coated without doing blasting, as we do in tube mill plants, where hot tubes come on rollers and zinc coating on tube seam is applied without doing blasting prior, as hot tube automatically make a good bond strength with coating.

I come across this with steel substrates, but not aluminium.

RE: Aluminum Preheating
If it is necessary in order to compact the successive coating, you can preheat, after a first pass of coating (low thickness), you can have the same problem when must spray on copper substrates, regards preheating after spray, you see a tube mill application, and this kind of coating can be applied on steel substrate.
