Aluminium properties
Hi! I am very new in the material science!
I need to find a relations between grain size an yield stress for aluminum alloys. And what about micro-hardness can I connect it with some macro properties of aluminum alloys? |

RE: Aluminium properties
Hi Yukawa
to the Surface Engineering Forum.Generally decreasing grain size increases yield stress. The Hall-Petch equation: where ?0 is the stress required to move dislocations, k is a material constant, and d is the grain size. Hardness will also have a relationship with grain size and yield stress. http://www.doitpoms.ac.uk/tlplib/mechani...insize.php http://aluminium.matter.org.uk/..... RE: Aluminium properties
Thank you! I know for that formula! But I need more. Can you recommend me some papers, or books?

RE: Aluminium properties
Hi Yukawa
Failing input from other members, I can only suggest doing more advanced searches in Google and the like http://books.google.com/books?........ Regards Gordon www.gordonengland.co.uk www.surfaceengineer.co.uk Photography Obsession |
