I agree with Richard's comments on Volumetric versus Mass flow, with the exception of 'not known well enough'. MFCs have been used in this application for at least a decade, on Stellite machines, serveral other makes of HVOF systems, and are in use at TWI and Johnson Matthey.

I would also argue the comment about Bronkhorst being the market leaders. Other makes of MFC are available, Hastings Mass Flow Controllers(Teledyne Hastings Instruments)are used on all the examples I mentioned above. In the interest of impartiality, you can find further information at:
