The bond strength of a coating is decided by the surface finish that is generated after surface preperation. The presence of graphite flakes in the CI normally wont affect the coating properties as WC coating wont be subjected to high temperature. Thereby propogating the diffusion of free carbon into the coating. Which eventually degrades the properties of the coating.
This i my observation and i would be glad to be corrected.
Further you need any help regarding surface preperation. Please visit www.mecshot.com.
