: Good day to you
: Recently i face some problem in our spring. when we sent to our customer, during their assembly, the spring break into two piece. we have gone through baking process after our plating process. want to check with you, can baking process really eliminate hydrogen embrittlement problems?

: thanks
The baking process certainly can reduce the susceptibility in some steels to hydrogen embrittlement or degradation that may arise in the finishing processes. The heat treatment though may not guarantee complete freedom from the adverse effects of hydrogen degradation.
