ARC spray techniques

Hi, I am using arc spray technology to coat sus316 on aluminium shaft. Am using a laser scan micrometer to measure the OD. We have a requirement of 10 microns, but it is hard to achieve, has anyone come across similar requirements and using certain techniques to achieve it?
