:pDear Gordon,

: What kind of arc spray coating would you suggest for internal coating of an exhaust stack, the temperature for which is between 100 deg C to 200 deg C.

: S02 and NOX are both present in the environment.

: SO2 - 2.98 P.P.M
: NOZ - 3.59 P.P.PM

: 140 deg C is tried to be maintained constantly. But when that does not happen and the temperature drops, the moisture mixes with the gases forming diluted H2SO4 AND HNO3.

: What kind of an arc spray coating would you suggest and is sealant required ? If yes What is the kind of sealant that is recommended.

: What is the life that can be expected of the coating ?

: Thanx,
: Regards,

: Raghav

I would consider aluminium as a sacrificial coating. Inconel 625 should be a good noble type coating, but needs to exclude environment 100% to be effective. A silicone based sealer for both coating types. Very difficult to give any prediction on service life.

Regards Gordon
