For a very cheap coating met2 through the arc gun is successful. The arc gun is a bit more tolerant on spray distance which is useful if doing pins. But be aware on some crankshafts they have hardened journals and pins. So I suggest you hardness check journals first along with a crank survey to check for cracking. Particularly if you have had an overheating failure.
