I have someone telling me they're using a component manufactured from Cobalt/Chrome bonded Tungsten Carbide (because there's an alkaline aqueous fluid involved and leaching of the Cobalt binder with conventional Cobalt-bonded TC has been a problem in the past). However,

a) I've seen a spec. sheet for the component and it says Tungsten Carbide K30, which I thought was just TC & Cobalt,

b) It's a completely TC component, not TC-coated, and I'm not sure if TC/Co/Cr can be pressed or if it's only be applied as a coating, and

c) Our lab's got a Scanning Electron Microscope with EDX and elemental analysis of the component surface shows only Tungsten, Cobalt, Carbon & Oxygen (no Chrome).

Could this still be TC with Cobalt/Chrome or is it just Cobalt-bonded TC?
