Plasma sprayed ceramics can be applied to many plastics and plastic composites, but it is far less straight forward than spraying onto metallic substrates. Special preparation procedures, bond coats and processing may be required. Each particular application would need careful assessment and coating development. The process is certainly not universally suitable to all plastic components.
