I am building Ipe doors on an historic project at ocean's edge in Pebble Beach, CA. I am having a local blacksmith make reproduction pintle hinges for these doors in stainless steel. The finish should be bronze. He suggested flame-spray bronze onto stainless steel. Is this do-able? The historic hinges in the 'castle' were made of steel by Samuel Yellin, the famous 1920's metalworker, that have been patina'd with a 'black and silver' finish. Perhaps you would suggest another finish more like this period hardware over the stainless steel would be just as durable in the salt-spray and salt-air. Thank You for your quick response. Andy
