chrome oxide spraying

I am involved in the rotating equipment on the plant with regards to maintenance, we sometimes need to get the bearing journals on the shafts sprayed what method would you suggest and why.
It has been suggested that we use chrome oxide coating on bearing journals and metal spraying on areas where oil seals and o rings are present.
