In your opinion then, if I had a 420 SS with a rockwell of 45-50 on the C scale with a corresponding UTS of 225 kpsi, is this material softer than a 304 SS with an UTS of 325 kpsi???
I first question the wear resistance properties.
Also there have been issues with the material taking a set. As I understand it, the hardness has almost no effect on the modulus of elasticity.
Can you offer any other sources for these types of inquiries?
