Refering to the paper at the following website:

Specifically, Eqn. 2 at the bottom of the page, for the solution of stress in the coating.

No reference is given for this equation. The derivation is not shown. The closest I have been able to find is the following:

stress(c) = [E delta(alpha) delta(T)]/[1- (poisson's ratio)]

Have you ever seen Eqn. 2 before?
Any idea of how it has been derived?
References you could point me toward?
