Thanks for the insight. The steel is annealed Inconel 600 (Rockwell B75 or VH137). I'm intending to Boronize it (VH2000). Your input gives me hope that I may reduce the deformation to an elastic condition. I'm also contemplating a larger od for the sapphire roller.
