: Sirs,
: I need some informations on the result of tungsten carbide stripping, actually we use electrolytic method (sodium carbonate + tartaric acid + water), and Id like to know if we have hydrogen embrittlement with this method, the base material is a 30CD4.
: If yes Im also looking for chemical stripping solution, to avoid hydrogen embrittlement, I found a product called Enstrip GT317, do you have any experience, feedback, on this type of product or concurrent product.
: Thanks for your help.
: Regards

Hi Nicholas

Not sure on this one, but electrolytic and chemical stripping have the potential for giving some hydrogen absorption though much lower than you would get with electoplating. If your substrate material is less than 1000 Mpa tensile strength or 325 HV you should not need to worry, if it is above then a 200 degree C stress relieving heat treatment should help.

Regards Gordon
