Thank you for your input. The O6 looks better in every respect except impact toughness, but we might be okay. I'm going to try to get some material to make some prototypes and try it.

: You may want to try ASTM O6 tool steel at 60-62 HRC. It contains free graphite in the microstructure which makes it very good at resisting metal to metal galling and wear. The graphite also helps hold lubricant. The Timken trade name for O6 is Graph-Mo. See our data sheet at the link below.
